NDDC Donates Ambulance, Equipment To Hospital In Akwa Ibom

Sunday May l8, 2025 |

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has donated an ambulance and Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) to the General Hospital in Iquita, Oron Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

The donation is seen as part of NDDC’s ongoing intervention programmes across the Niger Delta States intended to boost healthcare delivery service.

Presenting the donation, Victor Antai, Executive Director of Projects, expressed delight over the contributions of the health facility in the area, saying it played a huge role in his life while growing up.

“This hospital played a vital role in my journey to maturity, especially as I mark my 60th birthday. I was practical and determined about what I wanted to do, and this donation is a step forward”, he said.

He stated that the NDDC’s projects were not in rivalry with State Governments’ initiatives but were meant to complement them.

“Whatever we are doing at the NDDC, we are not in competition with the State Government. We are working hand-in-hand to complement their efforts,” Antai said.

Acknowledging the strides made by the Akwa Ibom State Government, he lauded the remodelling of public schools, including his alma mater — Government Primary School, Uko Uyukim, in Oron LGA, describing it as a symbol of progress and commitment to grassroots development.
