Thursday May 15, 2025 |

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), on Thursday, May 15, disrupted official activities at the Federal Ministry of Education in peaceful protest, demanding the immediate removal of the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, otherwise known as FUOYE, over alleged involvement in sexual harassment of staff and students.

Led by Samson Ajasa Adeyemi, the NANS National Public Relations Officer, the students, armed with placards with different inscriptions, blocked the entrance of the Ministry for a long time demanding an audience and action with the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, on the matter.

He said, “From today, we will occupy the Federal Ministry of Education, the National Universities Commission (NUC), and the National Assembly every week.

“These protests will continue until the Honourable Minister of Education takes bold, courageous, and irreversible steps to right these wrongs.”
