The D’CEM Awards Organisation has officially unveiled its newly appointed Governing Council Executive Members, consisting of a diverse group of influential figures and leaders in entertainment and humanitarian efforts.

This new council includes notable personalities such as Clarion Chukwurah, Mr. RAW, Funsho Adeolu, Chuks Omalicha, Dr. Queen Aftan, and Marta Evans, all dedicated to propelling the D’CEM organisation’s mission and expanding its global influence.

As the D’CEM Awards gain recognition as one of the most prestigious platforms celebrating African, American, and Latino film, as well as the arts in the United States, the establishment of this Governing Council marks a significant milestone in its evolution. The council has been formed to embody leadership, integrity, and excellence, with members selected for their notable impact within their respective fields and their commitment to cultural relevance and social change.


Clarion Chukwurah, a legendary Nigerian actress and humanitarian, has been appointed as the President of the council. Known for her impactful legacy in African cinema and her international outreach, Chukwurah’s leadership is expected to galvanize the organisation’s efforts.


Serving as Vice President is Mr. RAW, a celebrated pioneer of Igbo rap, who has made significant contributions to the African music scene as a cultural icon.

Funsho Adeolu, a veteran Nollywood actor acclaimed for his versatility, joins as an Executive Member, bringing rich experience in mentorship and leadership within the African film industry.

Also on the executive team is Chuks Omalicha, a prominent Nollywood star recognized for his contributions to new-generation African storytelling.

Dr. Queen Aftan, an American media personality and entrepreneurial trailblazer, is also appointed as an Executive Member, known for shaping modern broadcasting.

Rounding out the council is Marta Evans, an award-winning Latino-American actress and producer devoted to championing multicultural media and inclusivity.

The D’CEM Awards Governing Council will serve as the organisation’s core advisory and decision-making body, focusing on key areas, including honoree selection, international partnerships, and strategic growth. Their leadership is aimed at ensuring the D’CEM Awards continues to be a symbol of cultural celebration and excellence across continents.
