In a significant breakthrough, operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have arrested a suspected notorious cultist and leader of a four-man serial burglary gang.
According to a press release by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Command, DSP Timfon John, on Friday, May 9, “at approximately 3:30 AM, the Operatives of the Command , apprehended one Ubong Aniefiok Edit, also known as ‘Maf Fine Face’.”
She said the suspect is identified as a member of the Mafia Confraternity and the leader of a criminal gang responsible for a series of burglaries in the Idoro Road axis and its environs.
“The suspect was apprehended while returning from a Burglary operations . At the time of his arrest, the police recovered a generator alternator and a Qlink motorcycle with registration number ONC503QV.
“Ubong Aniefiok Edit and his gang members, who are currently at large, have been terrorizing innocent residents of the Idoro Road axis and surrounding areas. Their criminal activities primarily involve breaking into homes, uncompleted buildings, and shops, and stealing properties.
“The Police Command has intensified efforts to apprehend the fleeing members of his syndicate who are still at large”, she said.
