Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Remo Stars Football Club on winning the 2024–2025 Nigerian Premier Football League title, marking a significant achievement for the club, Ikenne, and Ogun State.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised the team’s hard work, discipline, and resilience, describing their victory as a testament to their unyielding spirit. He noted that the historic triumph, coming just four years after Remo Stars’ promotion to the elite division, underscores the power of perseverance, especially after three previous near-misses in their pursuit of the title.

President Tinubu also commended the vision and dedication of the club’s owner and chairman, Mr. Kunle Soname, whose investment in grassroots football — including the construction of a state-of-the-art stadium in Ikenne — has strengthened the foundation for sports development in Nigeria.

As newly crowned national champions, Remo Stars will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League. The President urged the team to approach the continental challenge with the same courage and focus that earned them domestic glory.

He also called on football fans across the country to rally behind Remo Stars as they carry the hopes of the nation onto the African stage.
