Ibom Air, the Akwa Ibom State-owned Airline, says it is set to resume normal flight operations to and from Enugu on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
A statement by the Airline management, endorsed by the General Manager, Marketing and Communications, Aniekan Essienette, and made available to journalists in Uyo, says the development is Following the reopening of Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA) in Enugu.
Tribune reports that AIIA was shut due to a sudden and significant rupture in the asphalt surface at a critical section of the runway, even as emergency repairs needed to be conducted on that portion of the runway from April 22nd to May 6th, 2025.
The resumption is on the heels of issuance of an official NOTAM (Notice to Airmen), (Ref: A0126/25 NOTAMC A0125/25) yesterday, confirming that Runway 08/26 at Enugu Airport has resumed normal operations.
Consequently, Ibom Air management has directed that all scheduled flights to and from Enugu from Sunday, May 4, 2025, onwards have been reinstated.
“Our Customer Service Team is actively reaching out to affected passengers to facilitate rebooking and alternative travel arrangements where necessary.
Ibom Air sincerely appreciates the patience and understanding of our esteemed passengers during the temporary disruption.
We remain fully committed to providing the safe, reliable, and on-time service that our passengers expect”, the statement announced.
