The Governor gave this commendation during the Arise Town Square meeting and empowerment programme for the federal constituency held at Central School, Ikot Akpa Nkuk in Ukanafun.

Governor Eno expressed gratitude for Rep. Idem’s efforts, noting that the federal lawmaker has made a very significant move in developing and empowering Akwa Ibom people.

The state Chief Executive, who nicknamed Idem “the China man,” used the opportunity to call on other leaders from Akwa Ibom in Abuja to emulate Rep. Idem by touching lives.

He also thanked the National Assemblyman for extending his training to him to nominate five persons to benefit from overseas training and pleaded that Idem should equally use his initiative to nominate the persons on his behalf.

Reacting to the appeal made by Rep. Idem on the delayed release of the appointment letter to his constituent, Ekponobong Umoh, the Governor directed the Secretary to the State Government to immediately issue out the letter to him and backdate the appointment to May 2023, even as he directed Ekponobong Moswill to resume duties immediately.

On the Ukanafun General Hospital project, Governor Eno announced that the hospital will be commissioned by September this year.

Earlier, Rep. Idem praised Governor Umo Eno’s unity and reconciliation initiative, describing it as one of the greatest legacies of his administration.

He commended the Governor’s sterling performance in various sectors of the economy and assured that the people of the federal constituency will continue to support him.

Rep. Idem pledged his support for the Governor’s efforts, including sponsoring 10 individuals to enroll in the Akwa Ibom Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre and sponsoring the enrollment of 100 Akwa Ibom people in the Akwa Ibom State Health Insurance Scheme.

When the Ukanafun General Hospital is completed, Rep. Idem assured that he would sponsor the street lighting of the entire hospital and the road leading to it.

Flanked by state legislators Hon. Elder Emem Udom and Hon. Sampson Idiong, Rep. Idem moved a motion to adopt Governor Umo Eno for a second term, which was seconded by Hon. Idiong.

The federal lawmaker said the action is predicated on the Governor’s sterling performances, and they will begin serious voter mobilization to ensure a massive vote in 2027.

The Governor later inspected the general hospital project.
