Veteran lawmaker and member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Oluwole Oke, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), marking a significant political shift in Osun State.

Oke, who has represented the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency for six consecutive terms, said his decision to leave the party came after extensive consultations with his political associates, friends, and family.

His resignation was contained in a letter dated April 16, 2025, addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 7 in Obokun Local Government Area.

In a brief phone conversation with journalists on Wednesday, Oke confirmed the move, although he did not immediately reveal his next political direction.

“I have resigned from the PDP,” he said.

However, the lawmaker did not disclose his next political move, even as he urged his loyalists and supporters to leave the PDP and await his next direction.
