The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has praised the troops of the Nigerian Armed Forces for their unwavering courage, resilience, and patriotism, even in the face of significant danger.

General Musa issued the commendation in a message to members of the Armed Forces on the occasion of Easter celebrations on Thursday in Abuja.

He assured the troops that their sacrifices would not be overlooked, urging them to continue serving as the cornerstone of the nation’s stability and unity.

“The men and women of the Armed Forces continue to demonstrate the same spirit of selfless service through their dedication to duty, loyalty to Nigeria, and relentless commitment to peace and national security,” the CDS said.

“As we mark this Easter season, I extend my heartfelt greetings to each and every one of you—those at home, on duty, and in various theatres of operation across the country and abroad,” Musa added.

Easter, he noted, is a time for reflection and renewal, symbolising sacrifice, courage, and triumph over adversity. These values, he stated, resonate deeply with members of the Armed Forces.

“We must remember our fallen comrades, those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. May their memories remain eternal, and may their service never be forgotten,” he continued.

Musa also prayed for the swift recovery of those wounded in action, offering strength and comfort to their families.

The defence chief encouraged the troops to use the Easter period to reflect on its core values—sacrifice, forgiveness, unity, and hope—and to renew their commitment to duty, discipline, and professionalism.

“I am confident in your ability to overcome the challenges ahead. Together, we will continue to defend Nigeria’s sovereignty with honour and dignity,” General Musa concluded.

He also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his ongoing efforts to ensure a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.
