The Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command, CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosanyin, on behalf of the officers and men of the Command, heartily felicitates with all Christian faithful in Cross River State and beyond on the occasion of the 2025 Easter celebration.

This is contained in a press release issued and signed by the Command’s public relations officer PPRO, SP Ugbo Irene, in Calabar.

“As part of proactive measures to ensure a safe, peaceful, and hitch-free Easter celebration across the State, the Commissioner of Police has directed the massive deployment of police personnel to strategic locations, including recreational centers, worship venues, highways, and other public spaces. This deployment will be complemented by increased visibility policing, intensified foot and vehicular patrols, and enhanced surveillance activities across all local government areas.

“In line with this directive, all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Unit Commanders have been instructed to maintain a high level of alertness and ensure public safety before, during, and after the celebration.

“The CP emphasized that unauthorized processions, unapproved gatherings, or banned masquerade activities will not be tolerated under any guise. The Command remains fully committed to upholding law and order, and will not hesitate to take decisive action against any group or individuals found breaching the peace.

“Residents are, therefore, enjoined to remain law-abiding and security-conscious, while celebrating responsibly. The CP also used the opportunity to issue a stern warning to criminal elements within the State: desist now or face the full weight of the law. Cross River State will not serve as a haven for criminality, and all hideouts will be uncovered and dismantled.

“For emergencies or to report suspicious activities, members of the public are encouraged to reach out via the following helplines:

Police Control Room: 0813 356 8456

Complaint Response Unit: 0706 797 7330

“Let us work together to keep our communities safe. When you see something, say something.

“Wishing all residents a joyous and incident-free Easter celebration,” the release concluded.
