Police Intercept Tramadol Worth Over N150m, Arrest Two Suspects in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has apprehended a mini truck loaded with six sizable bales of suspected tramadol tablets, which were hidden under bags of cement.

The estimated street value of the seized drugs exceeds N150 million.

This was disclosed in a post by security analyst and counter-insurgency, Zagazola Makama and shared on its X handle on Monday.

According to Police sources quoted by Zagazola Makama, the seizure was made during a sting operation at Alharini village in the Ungogo Local Government Area.

The truck was intercepted while disguised as transporting cement, but a thorough search revealed the concealed drugs.

Two suspects were arrested in connection with the incident.

The suspects arrested are Imrana Rabiu, the truck driver from Bene town in Kebbi State, and Muntari Shuaibu of Kofar Gabas in Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The command has reaffirmed its commitment to fighting drug trafficking and various criminal activities within the state, working in partnership with other security agencies.
