The Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja will today deliver judgment on the petitions by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate Asue Ighodalo challenging the declaration of Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressive Congress(APC) as winner of the September 21 2024 governorship poll in the state.

It was learnt yesterday that the parties have been notified of the verdict date.

The three-member tribunal headed by Justice Wilfred Kpochi fixed today after entertaining final arguments from parties. It first reserved the judgement day on March 3 after lawyers to parties adopted their written addresses and made final submissions.

PDP and Ighodalo, in their petitions, queried the decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to announce Okpebholo as the winner of the election, which they claimed was marred by irregularities.
