Saudi Arabia’s network of astronomical observatories has officially confirmed that Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, marking the end of Ramadan.

The sighting of the Shawwal crescent, which signifies the beginning of the Islamic month of Shawwal, was crucial in determining the conclusion of the fasting period.

This year, Ramadan concludes after 29 days, as is customary, with Islamic months varying between 29 and 30 days, depending on the moon’s appearance.

Eid Al Fitr, observed on Shawwal 1, celebrates the conclusion of a month filled with fasting, prayer, and reflection.

Earlier, Saudi authorities had urged citizens to look to the sky on the 29th night of Ramadan for the crescent sighting.

Once reports were confirmed, the Saudi Supreme Court declared Sunday as the official start of Eid festivities, bringing joy and anticipation to Muslims across the nation and around the world.
