The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially on Monday, March 24, 2025, received a petition seeking the recall of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

The petition was submitted on Monday and was received by INEC Secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony. This marks the first formal step in the recall process, which allows constituents to demand the removal of an elected official under Nigerian law.

The commission is expected to review the petition and determine the next course of action, which may include verifying the signatures and conducting a referendum if the legal requirements are met.
