EFCC Arrests 10 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Uyo

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, says its operatives at the Uyo Zonal Directorate have arrested 10 suspected internet fraudsters in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, DailyPost reports.

The Head, Media & Publicity of EFCC, Dele Oyewale disclosed this in a statement on Friday, March 21, 2025.

Oyewale stated that they were arrested on Thursday, March 20, 2025 in a coordinated sting operation at different locations across Uyo.

He said five of the suspects were arrested at Shelter Afrique while others were arrested at Ifa, off Oron Road, both in Uyo.

The statement added, “Two of the arrested suspects are undergraduates, three are online cloth vendors, one FOREX trader and another one, a film director

“Items covered from them include 21 mobile phones, six laptops, one international passport and three luxury cars.”

The Spokesperson said the suspects would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
