2026 WCQ: NFF Charges Super Eagles To Beat Rwanda, Zimbabwe

TUESDAY March 18, 2025 |TheNewsDESK

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has urged the Super Eagles to win their forthcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

On Friday, the Super Eagles will face Rwanda’s Amavubi at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, hoping to clinch their first win in the qualifiers.

Eric Chelle’s team will also face the Warriors of Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo next week Tuesday.

With the Super Eagles sitting in fifth position in Group C with three points from four games, NFF stated that it is important for the team to secure maximum points from the two games.

The body also demanded total support for the team in their quest to qualify for the World Cup.

“The executive committee charged the players to go all out for the six points in both matches to boost Nigeria’s qualification hopes,” reads a communique at the end of the NFF executive meeting.

“It also called on all Nigerians to support and encourage the team in whatever fair and proper way they are competent to, in order to guarantee victory in both matches.”
