Women have commended Hon. Christopher Zakka, Chairman of Abuja Municipal Council for his gender friendly disposition and empowering the women.
Development Partners, Information and Communication Technology Consultant, Hon.(Ambassador) Mina Horsefall have the commendation during the celebration of International Women’s Day in Abuja on Saturday.
Hon. Horsefall, who stated this in her goodwill message to Hon. Zakka congratulated him for standing up for the women and ensuring gender equality.
According to Minna, “as the world marks International Women’s Day on March 8th, the Abuja Municipal Area Council has reaffirmed its dedication to promoting gender equality and women empowerment”.
Speaking on this year’s theme, ”Accelerate Action”, which resonated deeply with Abuja Municipal Council, where women have made significant strides in politics, advanced economic growth and contributed to the delivery of dividends of democracy, Ambassador Horsefall acknowledged the crucial role men have also played in supporting their empowerment.
She said, the Municipal Council Chairman has given women wings to fly and paved the way for the future generations of women.
Mina however maintained that, the Abuja Municipal Council, under Hon. Zakka’s leadership has demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting gender equality and creating opportunities for their advancement.
On the achievements of the Municipal Council Chairman, she commended the council’s achievements including the empowerment and appointments that have positively impacted women in Abuja.
Ambassador Horsefall expressed her deepest appreciation to Hon. Zakka’s tireless efforts in supporting women’s empowerment emphasized that, Abuja can create a society where women are valued, respected and empowered to reach their full potential with his leadership.
