Akwa Ibom award – winning rapper, Ikpa Udo, has hinted on plans to take Akwa Ibom culture and music genre to the international in 2025.
This follows his successful 2024 outing, which saw him releaseed hit songs, concerts hosting, signibg endorsement deals and music/entertainment awards.
According to a release by his management consultant, Talent Bank Nigeria and the Blown Stars Entertainment Honcho, and made available to The Saturday Monitor Newspaper in Uyo, “Ikpa Udo is poised to take his music to the next level”.
Ikpa Udo, in an exclusive chat revealed that, he is working on international collaborations that would showcase Akwa Ibom culture and music to the global audience.
He said, ”One of the most anticipated collaborations is with the State Governor, Umo Eno and expressed his admiration for him as his inspiration.
“This move is a testament to Ikpa Udo’s commitment to promoting Akwa Ibom culture and music. His recent projects including; the “Son of the Soil Concert”, has been a huge success with his single “Wetin Be Love” featuring Rude Boy’s Fire Department signee and Grammy Award Nominee, AceTune and the video for “Kpe” receiving widespread acclaim.
A statement by the consultant further stated that, Ikpa Udo’s decision to collaborate with Akwa Ibom Governor is seen as a strategic move to promote Akwa Ibom State’s rich cultural heritage.
“The Governor, known for his support for the arts and entertainment is expected to bring his blessings and influence to bear in the project, as the artiste is working tirelessly behind the scene to bring his vision to fruition.
When asked to comment on further plans for 2025, Ikpa Udo expressed his optimism that, “2025 will be a year of transformation and growth for him and Akwa Ibom State, assuring that, more plans for the year would be made public as we progress.
The music star seized the opportunity to thank the various brands for their unwavering support throughout what he described ‘the sunrise process” and the likes of HERO Lager Beer, Ibom Air Company Limited and Troost – Ekong Foundation for their patronage, which made 2024 a successful year.
