NPFL: Akwa United Beats Enyimba In Uyo

Akwa United halted its eight-game winless streak following a 2-1 victory against Enyimba FC in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Sunday.

The home side opened the scoring through Jacob Ogunleye in the 26th minute, while Issah Mohammed equalised for Enyimba six minutes before the break.

Then 15 minutes from time, Uche Sabastine scored the winning goal for Akwa United to secure all three points for the home side.

At the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers United recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Lobi Stars.

Timothy Zechariah netted the decisive goal two minutes from time. It was Finidi George’s side first win in six league outings.
