First Lady Mourns Akwa Ibom Deputy Gov’s Daughter

|HOME| First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has mourned the daughter of the Akwa Ibom Deputy Governor, Akon Eyakenyi, Mrs Blessing Eyakenyi Adewunmi.

The First Lady described the death as “unfortunate, extremely painful and a great loss”.

Senator Tinubu’s condolence message was contained in a statement via her X handle on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

The statement reads: “It is with great shock and sadness that I learnt of the painful demise of Dr Blessing Eyakenyi Adewunmi, daughter of the Akwa Ibom State Deputy Governor, H E Akon Eyakenyi.

“I extend my heartfelt condolences to her husband, her parents and entire family. Dr Blessings’ unfortunate death is extremely painful and a great loss.

“The word of God says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18; “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”. The LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

“I pray that these words of the Lord will bring comfort and strength to the entire family.

“May the Lord God grant you all the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss. May her gentle soul rest in peace.”
