Akwa Ibom Govt Appoints Six New High Court Judges |SituationReport|

Six new High Court Judges are set to join Akwa Ibom State Judiciary following approval of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno.

Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah stated this in a statement on Thursday, December 12.

The six high court judges are Mfon Winifred Umohandi, Bassey James Ekanem, Bassey Iwakaowo Essien, Comfort Henry Morrison, Edet Ekpo Ntekim, and Sharon Julius Eddie.

Already, the State Judiciary with 12 Judicial Divisions has 22 High Court Judges.

Uwah said the governor approved the appointments of the legal officers as high court judges in the Akwa Ibom State Judiciary upon the recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC).

“The swearing-in of the newly-appointed High Court Judges by His Excellency, the Governor is scheduled for Monday, 16th December, 2024 at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo by 4pm,” Uwah said.
