The Akwa Ibom State Football Association (AKSFA) is set to host a seminar aimed at strengthening the leadership and governance of football in the state. The seminar, themed “Football Governance and Leadership Seminar,” is scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
The event, organized by the AKSFA under the leadership of Mr. Samuel Umoh, will have as participants all elected AKSFA board members, Local Football Council Chairmen, and football stakeholders from across the state. The goal is to provide participants with vital knowledge on best practices in football governance, leadership, and management.
The seminar will be officially opened by the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, and will have Dr. Muhammed Sanusi, the NFF Secretary-General and Nasr Jibrin as a key speakers. Together, they will provide valuable insights into the development and administration of football.
The upcoming seminar comes on the heels of the successful Obong Isong Isang Memorial Academies Championship, which saw Heaven’s Race Football Academy crowned champions after a week of intense competition.
In July 2024, the Akwa Ibom State Football Association had organized a seminar, themed “Repositioning Football in Akwa Ibom State for better results,” as part of it’s vision to develop the Sport in the State.
The upcoming seminar will build on these efforts, ensuring that football leaders and stakeholders in the state are equipped with the tools necessary for more effective management and long-term success.
