Israel Vows Retaliation After Iranian Missile Attack

Israel has pledged to retaliate following a missile attack by Iran on Tuesday, with military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari affirming that Israel will respond at a time and place of its choosing.

“This attack will have consequences. We have plans, and we will operate at the place and time we decide,” Hagari said in a statement.

The Israeli military reported intercepting a large number of missiles launched by Iran, although there were some impacts in central and southern regions of the country.

“We have carried out a large number of interceptions. There were a few hits in the centre and other areas in the south of the country,” Hagari added.

In response to the attack, a US defense official stated that American forces are prepared to provide “additional defensive support” to Israel, having already assisted in defending against the missile barrage.

Meanwhile, Germany has strongly condemned Iran’s actions, with Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock calling for an immediate end to the assault, warning that it could further escalate tensions in the region.

“Iran must stop the attack immediately,” Baerbock urged, stating that the conflict was “leading the region further towards the abyss.”
