Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has cleared air on his close ties with the Senate President, Chief Godswill Akpabio, stressing that the interest of the state far outweighs every other interest.

Governor Eno maintained that there’s a big difference between politics and governance while maintaining that the indigenes of the state God has placed in public offices must work together to enhance the wellbeing of the people.

“My robust relationship will in no way affect the chances of PDP in any election, including the coming local government councils election.

“Our Party the PDP will win because people see what we are doing to improve our state. Politics must be separated from governance, once elections are over politicians must unite and build the state together “.

“We believe part of the benefits we will derive from the robust relationship we are building with the federal government is to able to support some of the projects they are doing in the state.

“We need to have that synergy and to have even the peace we are enjoying, that synergy is important. Where you don’t have that synergy in some states in this country, you know the results. So we will continue to build on that.”

The governor stated this at a media interaction to mark the 37th Anniversary of the state’s creation, in Uyo.
