President Tinubu departs Abuja for Borno

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has left Abuja for Borno State to offer condolences and assess the impact of the recent devastating floods in Maiduguri, the state capital.

His visit follows earlier trips by Vice President Kashim Shettima and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who both assessed the situation on the ground.

During his visit, Atiku Abubakar made a significant contribution, donating N100 million to aid the victims affected by the catastrophic flooding. The floods, caused by the breach of the Alu Dam, have displaced over one million people in Maiduguri.

President Tinubu’s trip comes shortly after his return from official visits to China and the UK, underscoring his commitment to addressing the urgent humanitarian needs in Borno State. |SituationReport|
