The Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has offered automatic employment to an indigenous graduate in Nautical Science from the Academy of Maritime Education and Training, AMET, Kanathur, Chennai, India, Mr. Mkpouto-abasi Ime Umossoh.

Pastor Eno’s gesture is as a result of an appeal made by Umossoh during his inspection visit to ARISE Park located along Brook Street, Uyo.

Mr Umossoh, who intimated the governor that he graduated with a First Class in Nautical Science said he needed a sustainable means of livelihood to be able to support his aged parents.

Umossoh who hails from Essien Udim Local Government Area holds a National Diploma from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, MAN, Oron and that he could work as a 3rd officer onboard a ship.

Moved by compassion, Governor Eno directed the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Prince Enobong Uwah to liaise with the Commissioner for Transport, Hon Orman Esin with a view to engage Umossoh in the passenger cruise ship project of the State after due diligence must have been undertaken by the Commissioner for Internal Security, General Koko Essien.

The Governor who took a walk round the ARISE Park was delighted at the pace of work and the ingenuinty of transforming the life- threatening gully erosion site, to what would certainly be a wealth- generating tourism site wen completed.
