The statement credited to the African Democratic Congress, ADC, calling for the resignation of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno for no constitutional breach is senseless, unguarded and malicious, the PDP Equity Group has declared.

In a news release by the group and signed by its Coordinator, Eseme Essien, the PDP Equity Group urged Governor Eno and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, not to honour such mischief makers with words from the fountain of superlative performance of the Governor and the party since assumption of office.

According to Essien, “for an unknown party in the State that suffered rounded defeat and facing political extinction to resort to infantile gimmicks of mischief of calling for the resignation a performing Governor is senility taken too far”.

The group urged the Governor, PDP family and members of the public to ignore the empty rantings of the ADC, noting that their call tantamounts to “beer parlour talk” from a non existent political party who has turned itself into an undertaker of political mischief.

The Equity Group wondered why in Akwa Ibom, every natural occurrence is attributed to the Governor. “Soon, we may hear of a man quarrelling with the wife, and the Governor blamed for the disagreement. It is very pathetic to bring the person of the Governor to every mundane issues in the state”, the group submitted.

Mr Essien noted with regret that the ADC has chosen to blind itself of Governor Umo Eno’s numerous achievements which stands him out in the State and across the country.

Hear him, “Beyond the soft infrastructure, core developmental projects dot the nooks and crannies of the state in the areas of education, healthcare, agriculture, rural development, aviation, tourism, marine transportation, as well as direct interventions to help the youth, women and entrepreneurs particularly the poor and needy in the society under his compassion driven initiatives”.

The PDP Equity Group also expressed appreciation to the wife of the Governor, Mrs Patience Eno for showing her motherly intervention and benevolence with her recent donation of N500,000 to a distressed family and chastised the ADC for resorting to mischief.

The group admonished the ADC that rather than resorting to cheap propaganda, they and their sponsors should be mindful that this is the time for governance which the Governor is committed to fulfilling his campaign promises to Akwa Ibom people as the 2O27 election is still far when the ADC and their sponsors will face their worst political defeat and go into political extinction.
