Bangladesh has banned the use of Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, YouTube and other social media networks by its citizens.
Global Eyes News disclosed this in its official X account on Friday.
The implication is that from Friday, access has been restricted to these widely-used social media apps throughout the country.
This follows a previous shutdown of Meta’s from July 17 to July 31 which was implemented in response to unrest related to quota reform protests.
The announcement comes hours after Turkey announced a ban on Instagram.
