Minister Of Work Unveils 1000km Sokoto-Badagary Super-Highway Road

The Minister of Works David Umahi has unveiled Kebbi State 258km Sokoto 120km segment of the 1000km Sokoto-Badagary superhighway roads in Kebbi State.

Unveiling the Renewed hope legacy Infrastructure Project at the Presidential Lodge Birnin Kebbi, the minister said the projects, if completed, would boost the economy of the country.

He said the greenfield corridor option would feature a 915km, 3-lane concrete dual carriageway free from the constraints of existing
infrastructure, while it would translate to a more efficient design, minimizing traffic congestion and maximizing safety.

Umahi explained that the greenfield construction would allow for the incorporation of cutting-edge technologies, fostering a smarter and more sustainable transportation system.

The minister stated that the proposed projects would also avoid the social disruptions and relocation challenges associated with rehabilitating existing roads, while the corridor would traverse seven states including; Kebbi State with a 245km road expanse.

In his speech, the Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his Renewal Hope Agenda, adding that the agenda had direct bearing on the lives of the masses.

In their separate goodwill Messages, the National Assembly assures of their Support for the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway project for the betterment of Nigerians as well as the Kebbi and Sokoto State Governments that are direct beneficiaries of the project.
