Gunmen Assassinate Two At Taraba Community

Unknown gunmen have assassinated two persons at the palace of the district head of Chinkai in Wukari LGA of Taraba State.


The deceased are: Bala Samuel, a Jukun by tribe, and Pastor Daniel, of Tiv extraction.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama, that the  incident took place at the early hours of June 19,  when the assassins, suspected to be armed Fulani men, stormed the palace of the district head, Ezekiel Musa, and descended on the two persons.

Troops of the 93 Battalion of the 6 Brigade deployed at nearby Kente immediately mobilized to the scene confirmed the incident as assassination when they discovered that the assassins did not take along any valuables of the two persons as they fled after the act. 

While a manhunt for the assassins and other investigations are ongoing, the corpses of the two persons have been handed over to their respective families for proper burial.
