Obasanjo pays Sallah visit to First Lady Tinubu

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo paid a courtesy visit to First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on Monday for Sallah felicitations.

Senior Special Assistant to the First Lady on Media, Busola Kukoyi, made the visit of the former President public in a message she posted on her X handle, @KukoyiBusola, saying it was a show of goodwill and solidarity during the festive period.”Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and the First Lady of the Federal of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tinubu after receiving the Former President who came felicitating on the Sallah Celebration on Monday 17th June,” Kukoyi said.

Obasanjo was openly opposed to Tinubu’s presidential bid in the run up to the 2023 elections, rather supporting and mobilising national support for candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi.

Also in May, he made his first public comments on the Tinubu administration, criticising its key economic policies, saying that though they were necessary, they were wrongly applied.
