Senate approves N98.5b FCT supplementary appropriation bill for 2024

On Tuesday, June 11, the Senate passed a supplementary appropriation bill of N98.5 billion for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for 2024.

This decision followed the Senate committee on FCT’s report consideration during a plenary session.

The bill had been previously postponed last week as the Senate requested detailed budget information to accompany it.

Senator Osita Ngwu (PDP-Enugu West), the vice chairman of the committee, presented the report in the absence of the committee chairman, Senator Bomai Mohammed (APC-Yobe South).

The approved supplementary appropriation aims to address additional funding requirements and ongoing projects within the FCT, ensuring that necessary resources are allocated for the capital’s development and maintenance in the upcoming year.
