Kano gov appoints new Emir of Kano

In a significant move, Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has reinstated Muhammadu Sanusi as the new Emir of Kano.

The announcement came on Thursday, following the governor’s approval of the new emirate council law at the Government House in Kano.

Governor Yusuf signed the law at precisely 5:10 PM, accompanied by his deputy, the Speaker of the State Assembly, and other key government officials.

This reinstatement follows the dethronement of Sanusi by former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje in 2020, which stemmed from a personal conflict.
