With his commitment towards running an all inclusive government, coupled with the zeal to turn around the fortunes of the people, the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno is opened to partnership with valuable entrepreneurs willing to invest in the development of the State.
The Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong made this position known over the weekend, at Ibom Hall, IBB Way, Uyo, during the grand finale of the Akwa Ibom Talent Show, Season 2.
Comrade Ini Ememobong who was a Special Guest at the occasion, said Governor Umo Eno, through his ARISE Agenda development blueprint, is developing youths in all sectors of the economy such as Agriculture, Tourism, Entertainment, Education, Technology and Entrepreneurship and commended the Akwa Ibom Talent Foundation for keying into the vision.
Represented by the Director of Public Relations, Mrs Grace Akpan, at the occasion, the State Information helmsman acknowledged with pride the skills and creativity demonstrated by the over 200 contestants paraded for the Season 2 of the Akwa Ibom Talent Show competition in different categories such as: Dance/corography, Poetry, Creative display, drumming, music, Acrobatic, acting, and comedy among others,
He observed that, the exercise has undoubtedly created a platform for youths to be mentally occupied and gainfully employed thereby taking them off criminality and expressed appreciation to the organizers for the laudable venture.
Ememobong acknowledged with pride the composure and mastery of the elimination/eviction process for contestants by the panel of judges who screened out contenders based on costumes, coherence, carriage and role interpretation, expressing the hope that, the exercise will churn out budding stars who will work towards their self development and actualization.
He pledged government’s support and that of the Ministry particularly in the area of publicity, and called on well meaning Akwaibomites and residents to support this youth development initiative.
Earlier, the Project Consultant of Akwa Ibom Talent Show and Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment, Moses Eskor, while welcoming the guests had said, the Akwa Ibom Talent Foundation is a Non-government organisation, NGO, registered in USA and trade marked in Nigeria targeted at youth development.
Moses Eskor said, the NGO with Bishop Daniel Jack as the President/CEO, is creating a platform to raise, support and encourage raw talents to showcase their endowments for harnessing and development into future stars in the thespian, music and comedy pedestals.
He said the initiative was in line with the vision of Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda which aims at birthing stars out of the rubbles by taking young talents out of the street and called for support by public spirited individuals and the government.
