The Akwa Ibom Governor Pastor Umo Eno, has urged Nigerians to exude a positive attitude in the face of the current economic hardship in the country.
Governor Eno, who made the call in his Easter message to Akwa Ibom people on Sunday, urged Nigerians to pray for all tiers of government to succeed.
The governor stated that the resurrection of Christ should reassure Christians that every challenge in life was surmountable.
He said that although the nation was experiencing economic hardship, the citizenry should persevere and support the government at all levels to fulfil its roles.
”Let us be resilient and hopeful. Just as Christ overcame death, we shall also overcome this period.
”Use the Easter period to pray for the political leadership of this country at all levels,” he said.
Mr Eno restated his administration’s resolve to always evolve programmes and policies that positively impact the people.
”We are committed to applying our resources judiciously to affect you positively and give you reasons to remain hopeful,” he said.
The governor said he had released about N15 billion to pay gratuities to the state retirees.
”This move has enabled our retirees to care for their needs, especially medical care. We shall continue to release funds for this programme,” he added.
