The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom, Pastor Umo Eno said he will return to Eket Local Government Area after eight years tenure as governor of Akwa Ibom State.
The governor made the speech in Eket on Saturday 23rd March, 2024 during the inauguration/investiture of executives/Patrons of EKECCIMA and the first quarter meeting of Coalition of South South Chambers of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (COSSCCIMA).
The governor reminded the people how he started his business in Eket and was blessed, declared that Eket is his home, where he will return to after his service to the State as a governor.
Speaking through the Honorable Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Dr. J.J. Etim in a well delivered Speech, the governor commended the leadership and members of EKECCIMA on the Inauguration of EXCO and Patrons, stating that it was a remarkable development.
The governor called on Eket Chamber of commerce to laise with the ministry of Agriculture for some of the agricultural interventions of the State. Government, he said was working on renewable energy to improve energy supply in the State.
The Chairman of the occasion and Director General of Government Business, Chief Assam Assam spoke in glowing terms about the choice of Patrons of the Chamber and said that the birth of EKECCIMA was a good thing to Eket and its enviros .
The newly sworned in President, Elder( Hon ) Aniedi Ikoiwak in his acceptance speech on behalf of his executive stated that the Chamber started as Eket Business Group and transformed to EKECCIMA with the objective of creating a business mentality in the locality that will promote the collaboration and partnership among business owners and entrepreneurs.
Keynote message at the event was delivered by Dr. John Udofa with the theme” GROWING A CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN A DEPRESSED ECONOMY”
His Majesty, Obong E. C. D. Abia, the Paramount Ruler of Eket, Archbishop Senator Helen Esuene, Chief Nduese Essien, Elder Ben Udobia, Chief Samuel Asuamah as well as Dr. Fabian Essiet were honored as Patrons.His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno was honoured as Grand Patron of EKECCIMA.
Those inaugurated as executive included Elder Aniedi Ikoiwak, President, Hon. Barr. Bassey Essien, Vice President, Dr. Princewill Ekanim, Executive Secretary, Hon. Ekanem Willie, Dir. Media Communications and Training, Pastor Godwin Ukwat, Dir of Finance, Mr. Nsudoh Nsudoh, Dir of Business Development, Dr. John Udofa, Business Advisor and Pastor Ebong Eno, Dir. of Tourism. Others are Engr. Thompson Usungedo, Elder Isaiah Ntekim, Mr. Ini Asuquo Inyang, Bishop Victor Bassey, Mr. Owen Owen, Mrs Ekomobong Nda and Pastor Anwafia Akpekong.
