Members of the Akwa Ibom State Community in Bauchi State have elected new officers to run the affairs of the community for the next 2 years, 2024 to 2026.
The new officers were elected during the general meeting of the community held on Sunday at the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi Staff School, Bauchi.
The newly elected officers are: President: Idibeke-Abasi Edward Udosen; Vice President: Engr. Francis Okokon Andem; Secretary: Akparawa Imaikop Elijah; Treasurer: Mrs Esther Emmanuel; Financial Secretary: Udeme Alexander Bassey; and Public Relations Officer: Engr. Anietie Daniel Umoh. Others are Provost 1: Mr Imoh Elijah; Provost 2: Miss Agnes Godwill Udoh, and Women Leader: Mrs. Rosemary Charles.
While swearing in the new officers, the patron of the community and chairman of the electoral committee, Barrister Aniekan Mendie, stated, “We are excited to welcome our new officers and are confident in their ability to lead our association to greater heights.”
He added that “their commitment to our community and vision for the future will guide us as we work together.”
In his acceptance speech, the new president, Mr. Idibeke-Abasi Edward Udosen, extended gratitude to outgoing officers led by Mr. Victor Nelson for their tireless dedication and service to the community.
According to him, Your contributions have been invaluable in advancing the community’s mission and enhancing the quality of life for all members.”
He said that the new leadership looks forward to the continued support and engagement of its members as it embarks on this new chapter under the leadership of the newly elected officers.
The election of new officers marks an important milestone for the Akwa Ibom State Community as it continues its mission to foster unity, love, understanding, and positively project the image and tradition of Akwa Ibom State people in Bauchi State.
