Enugu state governor at almost all fora, has repeatedly boasted that his administration will redefine the economy of the State, through the creativity of young people by channeling their energy into more productive and impactful ends, rather than social vices like Internet fraud.

Mba is relying heavily on his experience in the private sector as a Chief Executive overseeing a spectrum of businesses that span across Telecommunications, Oil and Gas, Real Estate, Hospitality, Agriculture, Education, Sports and Entertainment.

However, prominent tech entrepreneurs are not waiting for him to do it alone. They have offered to help.

At least a serial entrepreneur and founder of S Mobile Group, Kingsley Adonu, has unveiled plans to commission an innovation centre in Enugu State. The centre which he said will be called S Mobile Tech Hub, will promote skills development, youth entrepreneurship, and job creation in new technology and innovations in the state.

According to him the hub is in recognition of the ingenuity of the State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, who has shown the capacity to grow the fortunes of the state through youth empowerment.

Adonu said that as a development agent, S Mobile has the mission to transform South East’s technology sector through the hub by providing business support services to enable young people in the region engage in meaningful businesses and existing enterprises to thrive.

He said: “S Mobile Tech Hub is a vision to manifest the Group’s deliberate programmes towards building a dynamic and vibrant startup ecosystem in this region starting with Enugu State.

“Again, it is a demonstration of our support to the visionary leadership of Dr. Peter Mbah, who has not minced words on his intent to build a resilient city, where poverty is reduced to the barest minimum. We are keying into that vision, and it is driven by the realization that tech startups are becoming major economic value creators in the 21st century.

“S Mobile Tech Hub is also motivated by the desire to support quality projects with high developmental impact such as job creation and poverty alleviation to enhance the socio-economic standard of, especially, young Nigerians”.

He said that S Mobile Tech Hub will leverage trends to accelerate its programme, especially as artificial intelligence, robotics, big data, among others are becoming embedded in our daily lives. – VanguardNewspaper
