Heavyweight Boxing Clash: Joshua Wins Ngannou By KO In Round Two

Anthony Joshua produced one of the finest performances of his career in a devastating knockout of Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia, in the early morning of Saturday, March 9, 2024.

Joshua, a former two-time unified heavyweight champion, took a step closer to a blockbuster undisputed fight against Tyson Fury with a superior performance to his rival, who was made to work by the Cameroonian on his debut last October.

Joshua dropped the former UFC champion twice before a crushing third knockdown pinned Ngannou to the canvas in an emphatic stoppage.

Joshua won with more than a minute to spare in the second round.

“That was a complete mismatch”, Joshua fan says after the knock out.

Ngannou never landed a punch and was knocked down twice before being knocked out.

The 34-year-old confirmed he is now in line to face the winner of Fury against Oleksandr Usyk, who beat ‘AJ’ twice previously.

Promotor Eddie Hearn says there is no better fighter on the planet than Anthony Joshua.

Hearn also called for Tyson Fury to unify the belts against Oleksandr Usyk to set up a meeting with Joshua.

“He (Joshua) is the baddest man on the planet. There is no one in the world that can beat him,” Hearn told Sky Sports.

“It will be the biggest fight in the history of the sport when Joshua faces Fury. Please Tyson beat Usyk.

“That was one of the most destructive knockouts I have seen.

“He is a savage beast and I cannot wait for him to beat Tyson Fury.”
