AFCON 2023: Cote D’ivoire Forward Haller Eyes Revenge Against Super Eagles

Cote d’Ivoire striker Sebastian Haller has revealed that the Elephants want to avenge their defeat to Super Eagles of Nigeria in the group stage of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The hosts will face the Super Eagles for the AFCON trophy at the Alassanne Ouattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Sunday, February 11.

Emerse Fae’s side fell 1-0 to the Super Eagles in the group stage.

Haller, however, said the Elephants want a revenge and the title this time around.

“We are playing the final against Nigeria. It is a great nation. It is heavy. They beat us in the group stage,” Haller said to BeIn SPORTS.

“But we are already motivated to go and lift the trophy on Sunday in this stadium in front of the Ivorian people. We have revenge to take on Nigeria.”

The match between Cote D’Ivoire and Nigeria will kick-off at 9pm Nigerian time.
