Nigeria Defeat South Africa, Book AFCON Final Spot

The Super Eagles have advanced to the African Cup of Nations final after overcoming South Africa on penalties at the Stade de la Paix (Stadium of Peace) in Bouake, Ivory Coast.

The Eagles took the lead when captain William Troost Ekong converted a penalty won by attacker Victor Osimhen.

South Africa’s star player Mokoena equalized in the 90th minute, sending the game to extra time. Extra time resulted in a draw, and the game went to penalties.

Nigeria’s goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali saved two penalties, while Kelechi Iheanacho scored the winning penalty to send the Eagles to the final.
