Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has hailed the Super Eagles after their resounding victory over familiar foes, Cameroon.
The Super Eagles on Saturday, January 27, defeated the Indomitable Lions thanks to a brace from Ademola Lookman.
The win seals a place in the last eight for the Super Eagles who will be facing Angola on Friday in Abidjan.
Sanwo-Olu, who watched the AFCON match on television in Lagos, urged Jose Peseiro’s side to maintain their momentum as they advanced to the quarterfinals.
In a series of tweets, he wrote, “I totally enjoyed the Super Eagles’ incredible display of teamwork and determination tonight against the team from Cameroon.
“From Osimhen’s hard work to Lookman’s brace to Ekong and Bassey’s very solid performances as well as Nwabali’s solidity, kudos to the entire team.
