Supreme Court Affirms Oborevwori As Delta Governor

The Supreme Court has affirmed the election victory of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State.

In a unanimous decision on Friday, a five-member panel of the apex court panel led by Justice Okoro dismissed an appeal the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, filed to challenge the outcome of the governorship election that was held in the state on March 18, 2023.

The court dismissed  the appeals by the All Progressives Congress and its candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege, and the Labour Party and its candidate, Ken Pella, against the governor

In Omo-Agege’s case, the five-member panel led by Justice Okoro said the appeal lacked merit and the appellant was unable to discharge the burden of proof placed on him.

Pella’s appeal was also dismissed for lack of merit.
