Nigerians Should Stop Cursing But Pray For Leaders Not To Go Astray: Sultan

The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, has urged Nigerians to always pray and learn to respect leaders and the rule of law so the nation has a direction for better living.

Mr Abubakar made the call on Saturday while declaring open the Alhaji Abdullahi Habib Memorial Mosque at the Federal University Lokoja (FUL).

The Sultan, represented by the Emir of Keffi, Shehu Chindo-Yamusa III, said the gesture was commendable.

“We should fervently pray for our leaders and not curse them so that they don’t go astray, to our detriment as a nation,” said Mr Abubakar.

He tasked Nigerians on unity and peaceful coexistence for the growth and development of the country.

Earlier, FUL vice-chancellor Olayemi Akinwumi appreciated the donation to the school.

He also called on well-spirited individuals to assist further in developing the mosque so that other components of the architectural designs were accomplished. (NAN)
