Staff in the Office of the Wife of Governor,  Akwa Ibom State, have been charged to eschew unethical work practices, but rather brace up to their assigned responsibilities for a seamless delivery of its goals in line with the ARISE Agenda to the people of the state.

The Governor’s Wife, Pastor Patience Umo Eno made the call, Monday, January 8, 2024, during a meeting with a cross section of staff from the different departments that constitute her office.

Reiterating the need to remain diligent to assigned duties, Pastor Patience Eno tasked the staff to exercise a high level of seriousness and commitment to work noting that defaulters will face consequences.

“I called this gathering again, to meet you this year, to congratulate you for making it into year 2024 and to encourage you for the task ahead. Everyone should know their responsibilities and prepare to do it well and right.

“I need everyone to take his or her line of duty seriously, there is no responsibility that is less important. All hands must be on deck. Nobody should be found wanting or lagging behind for responsibilities that is there to discharge,” she said.

The First Lady who informed the staff that her Pet Project will be unveiled soonest, thanked the staff for their resillience and support in the last seven months in ensuring the successes recorded so far.

She however, frowned against vices like bickering, rumors, factions, misconception and misinterpretation of information that would breed disintegration and disunity but rather encouraged staff to build a friendly and healthy working space.

Personal Aide to the Governor’s Wife, Mrs Helen Obareki, outlined communication, commitment, consistency and consequences as measures needed for optimal results, noting that timely information sharing, excellent attitude, enthusiasm to work and deterrent measures as consequences for defaulting would enhance output.

In their various remarks, Heads of different Departments including, Protocol, Women mobilisation, Media, Pet Project and Security unit applauded the Governor’s Wife, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, who deemed it necessary to periodically engage with staff, stating that it shows the premium value she places on her workforce while pledging to put in more efforts for better results.

They also used the medium to solicit for vehicles for ease of movements, unhindered access to information, accessibility, receptiveness and provision of work equipment to ensure that the various units deliver on their assigned responsibilities.
