The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) said its enrolment figures as at December 31, 2023 stood at over 104.16million ‘unique records’.

As usual, Lagos State continued to take the lead with the highest cumulative enrollment figure of over 11.4 million.

According to the data uploaded at NIMC’s enrolment dashboard on its website yesterday, a total of 104, 163,072 million National Identity Numbers (NINs) were issued with its distribution by gender showing that male recorded 59,120,900 representing 56.8per cent while female had 45,942,172 representing 43.20 per cent of the total figure.

Regional figures indicated an almost equal distribution across the North and South.

According to the dashboard, the Top 10 states for NIN Enrolment as at last December 31 included Lagos with 5,198,597 females, 6,229,228 males and total figure of 11,427,825; Kano with 3,896,951 females, 5,299,689 males and total number of 9,196,640 enrollees.

Kaduna followed with 2,898,887 females, 3,552,194 male and 6,451,081total figure while Ogun trailed it 2,115,429 females, 2,289,463 male and 4,404,892 total figures.

Oyo recorded 1,934,505 female and2,108,092 male bringing total figures to4,042,597; Katsina had 1,439,115 female and 2,106,973 males and total figure of 3,546,088; FCT recorded 1,462,345 females and 2,052,389 males and total figure of 3,514,734; Rivers had 1,413,673female, 1,724,994 males and 3,138,667 total figure; Delta had 1,310,378 females,1,485,444 males and 2,795,822; while Bauchi had 981,490 males, 1,779,666 females and total of 2,761,156 enrolments.

According to NIMC, the bottom 10 states for NIN enrolment as at last December 31 were Kwara, Akwa Ibom, Kogi, Enugu, Yobe, Taraba, Cross-River, Ekiti, Ebonyi and Bayelsa states.
