Lawmaker Gives Cash, Laptops To 80 Akwa Ibom Students

Eighty students from Abak/Etim/Ekpo/Ika federal constituency of Akwa Ibom State studying in different tertiary institutions across the country have been paid a sum of N50,000 each by the House of Representatives lawmaker representing Abak/Etim/Ekpo/Ika federal constituency in Akwa Ibom State, Hon. Clement Jimbo.

The federal lawmaker also sponsored free medical outreach which over 2,000 people benefitted. Treatments carried out included dental surgeries, tooth extraction, medical diagnosis, treatment, and free medications undertaken by different medical professionals.

Jimbo, likewise trained over 100 females in different skills and gave them different starter packs to start their businesses as well as trained over 70 youths in ICT as well as empowered them with brand new laptops.

He also installed solar street lights across the federal constituency and renovated the village hall meeting as well as held federal constituency meetings with the people to tell them what he had in store for them.

The lawmaker, who made these known during the bursary disbursement and medical awareness and dental surgeries said he did all in line with his campaign promises which are effective representation, responsible leadership and shared prosperity.

He said his primary focus in the green chamber is effective legislation and the betterment of his constituents who gave him their votes.

He said his philosophy of life is that leadership is a dedication to the welfare of the people, through capacity building, economic empowerment, financial contributions and support, welfare of the people, and poverty alleviation.

Jimbo said that capacity building, youth development, an improved education system, meaningful women empowerment, and poverty alleviation programmes that will transform the people of Abak federal constituency are his primary objectives. He promised to ensure that all good things budgeted for by the government get to his constituents.
