Senate Summons Service Chiefs Over Plateau Attacks

The Senate on Saturday, December 30, called on all service chiefs to appear before it to explain the events that led to the deaths of nearly 200 Nigerians on the Plateau on Christmas Eve.

TheNewsDesk reports that the house minority caucus had raised an alarm three days ago demanding for a halt on the bloodlettings in the state.

The caucus recommended that NASS employ every legislative tool at its disposal to stop the drift in the state of North Central.

The chiefs summoned are Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Air Staff, Director-General DSS, Inspector General of Police, and National Security Adviser.

Godswill Akpabio, the president of the Senate, has announced that the invited chiefs will meet behind closed doors with the Senate to provide an explanation for the strike in Plateau State.
