Gov Eno Takes Over Education Of Children Of Late Policeman

The Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has expressed empathy with the family of the slain police orderly, Inspector ThankGod Edet, killed by armed hoodlums, who abducted Justice Joy Unwana and her driver along Okobo Esuk Inwang – Ndon Ebom road, while returning to Uyo, the state capital after rising from a court session at Oron Local Government Area Judicial Division of the State High Court Monday last week.

The commissioner of police (CP), Olatoye Durosinmi; the commissioner for internal security and waterways, retired General Koko Essien, and the special adviser to the governor on security, former Police AIG, Samuel Ogunjemilusi, led the widow of the slain officer and the injured driver to the meeting at Government House, Uyo.

Governor Eno, who condoled with the widow, described the incident as sad, and prayed for the repose of the soul of the slain officer, who died in active service, and promised to take over the welfare of the family including the education of the children he left behind.

He sympathized with the driver, who sustained multiple injuries during the attack in which he was kidnapped along with the judge, and thanked God for sparing his life, even as he offered to take up his medical bills and other welfare issues.
