A viral video of a case of domestic violence has shown a man, identified as Ekere Ebong, brutalising his wife at their residence in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom state.
In the five-minute video, the woman is seen lying on the ground with blood coming out of her mouth, begging her husband to stop the beating.
The woman was rescued by her neighbours, who asked Ebong, a lawyer, stop beating her.
In the video, one of the neighbours said the man usually beats his wife almost every night in the last four years.
The neighbours could be heard in the video asking people to bring a wrapper for the woman, who claded in a vest and a pant.
After the neighbours rescued the woman, the man locked the gate and asked them to accommodate her.
The lawyer asked the neighbours to mind their business.
However, Nigerians on social media have asked the police to arrest the man.
